He Said What?
While driving yesterday, I happened to hear a press conference with the Obamanation.
Sometimes, it is impossible to know when to laugh and when to cry.
For instance, the Obamanation, referring to the upcoming crapfest concerning justice Scalia’s replacement, made at least 3 references to “our democracyâ€. This bozo is an alleged constitutional scholar and he doesn’t know that we are a republic, not a democracy?
Then, he went on to bemoan at length how Republicans are “reading the constitution and finding things that are not thereâ€.
WHAT??
This is exactly what progressives, like Obama and Clinton, have done for over 100 years now and to the measurable detriment of our republic.
It still amazes me how people like Obama and both Clintons can stand before the American people and tell the most obvious and outrageous lies – while the MSM pretends not to notice. And while a seeming majority of Americans seem not to give a hoot.
The Republicans should have impeached this guy the day after winning back the Senate. They fact that they were (are) too cowardly to do so has left the door open to unimaginable damage yet to be done over the next 9 months.
Makes me want to puke.

Stop torturing yourself, Troy. Most electronic entertainment devices, which are capable of being commandeered by government functionaries for propaganda purposes, have a dial or buttons for changing channels. I recommend their immediate use whenever the Obamessiah interrupts regularly scheduled programming, because even laughing at the fool, will make you want to cry for our plight.
It honestly wouldn’t surprise me if Obozo couldn’t articulate the difference between a republic and a democracy. They probably haven’t covered that at Harvard Law School for the past 100 years either. Besides, the only demonstrable expertise I have ever seen him reveal, is in reading a teleprompter.
In psychobabble it is called ‘projection.’
Do you remember back when we were kids, and everyone understood that the so-called press in the USSR were apparatchiks of the Communist Party, who ignored objective truth to publish self-serving propaganda for the state. I used to think that their reporters were actual government employees. I now understand that this is unnecessary; a properly indoctrinated ideologue, with an abiding intolerance for dissenting views, is sufficient.
I used to lament the disinterest of sheeple in politics, back when I thought that it could make a difference if they paid attention. Now that I realize that it is all propaganda, and grand kabuki theater, not so much. Sheeple want to be led, and don’t much care if they are lied to, as long as they get their bread and circuses. I now find it infinitely preferable to think of myself as an independent, free, and sovereign individual, apart from and opposed to the state, than a member of a collective of mostly clueless sheeple, in desperate need of an education in the value of Liberty. In a sense, I have joined them – when it comes to Incumbrepublocrat politics… I just don’t give a hoot. 😉
The solution is to stop caring, Troy. It is not as hard as you might think, and you sure would have a lot of company. â—„Daveâ–º
I could easily do that — except… I, like you, was privileged to enjoy America at its peak. And, it was a wonderful thing.
Problem is, I have children and grandchildren who deserve that experience every bit as much as I did. And, I feel guilty that my generation let the dream get shattered. We collectively felt that American prosperity was our birthright rather than an exceptional situation worthy of being protected at all costs.

Certainly. To support the powerful is to enjoy perks that would otherwise not be there. Again, the difference between self-interest and enlightened self-interest.
Unenlightened self-interest always leads to an unsustainable harvest for the few rather than sustainable general prosperity for the many.
Make no mistake. I am not some altruistic touchy/feely type. If I seem to care what happens to others, it is solely because I care even more what happens to ME. And, I am rational enough to know there is a connection.

Actually we are no longer a republic, It has morphed into a hybrid democracy/oligarchy. The democracy part comes in when we get to pick which oligarch will lord over us for a while. The republic went bye bye when the states lost their representation through the 17th amendment. They now call it a democracy because that is the end game of the progressives. The same as many now call the democrat party the “democratic party”. (It so grates on my nerves when I hear it.) They want people tho think they are all for democracy and democracy is always good. You know. When 51% can vote to take everything from 49%.
Democracy is a synonym for mob rule. The founders knew that.

While the distinction is sometimes blurred, I don’t think of politicians as among the oligarchs. Most are just the hired marionettes of a more obscure group of bankers and corporatists, choreographing their bit parts in the kabuki dance. The notion that an empty suit like Obama, is a serious member of the ruling oligarchy, rather than one of their employees, is simply laughable. When one thinks about it, the same is true of the barking bitch still married to the famed hound dog from Arkansas.
You should also include the 16th Amendment and the Federal Reserve Act along with the 17th, as among the proximate causes of the demise of the Republic in 1912. Prior to the income tax and ability to inflate the currency, the Feds had to beg the States for any operating funds desired, beyond what they could collect in import duties and tariffs. The power of the purse, was probably more effective than the their appointed Senators, to keep the Federal government’s drive for growth and supremacy in check.
If the right wing of the Incumbrepublocrats weren’t also champions of mob rule themselves, they could actively educate the public regarding the nature of a constitutional republic vs. a mob-rule democracy. It shouldn’t be that hard to convince sheeple that minorities are actually protected in a republic, and easily screwed in a democracy. Then, they could explain that this is why they are called ‘Republicans’ and their opponents are called ‘Democrats.’ 😉 â—„Daveâ–º
