NH Primary 2016
This is an open thread for comments on the results of the NH Primary, with particular emphasis on the Trump vs. Cruz show. Chris is providing the popcorn, and I intend to supply the champagne. 😀 â—„Daveâ–º

Fittingly, after the early midnight voting, the contest begins with a 3-way tie. Pass the popcorn… 🙂 â—„Daveâ–º
Not what I would call any sort of indicator but when I saw that at 6:00 this morning the right corner of my mouth did twitch in an upward direction just a little. 🙂
I understand… the same thing happened to my brow. 🙂
I should have posted a screen shot, because that link will start changing after the polls close. For those who missed it, Cruz, Kasich, and Trump each had 9 votes. â—„Daveâ–º
The data should be dynamic. It should refresh on reload.
Just of note, if you recall a comment in another post where I mentioned the Evangelicals in the northern mountain regions. The county Cruz won 9 votes in is up there.
Ah ha… That explains it. 😉 â—„Daveâ–º
LOL that reminds me. Ever see the Hillbilly weather man? He’s from around those parts. Comes with a language disclaimer but if you never saw him here’s last Sundays forecast. https://youtu.be/wzFxeRPRbRU
LOL… love it. Ironically, I was just thinking about digging out my fan. It is 80 deg. here! It is probably time to get some tomato plants in the ground. 😀
Way to make friends Dave. 🙂
New Hampshire Voters Ask: Is It Over Yet?
Apparently, they are already partied out. 🙂 â—„Daveâ–º
LOL that could hang on my door year round. I get everything from Jehovah’s Witnesses to steak salesmen. Iv’e often thought of hanging a sign. Warning! Grouch intolerant bastard inside. Whatever your selling he ain’t buying. Ring at your own risk.
Fox News calls it early for Trump… 28% to 12% for Cruz… and I don’t even have the champagne on ice yet! 😀 â—„Daveâ–º
I already said Cruz wasn’t going to beat Trump. My prediction was he would do better than 6th where the polls had him. Although 5th would also be a disappointment. 🙂
You didn’t follow the link… 🙂 â—„Daveâ–º
OH!!! The polls just closed and Fox actually did call it for Trump and Sanders! 😀 â—„Daveâ–º
And Cruz is 5th behind Kasich, Bush, & Rubio! OK, I’ll get the bubbly on ice. 😀 â—„Daveâ–º
The way NH does these is crazy. If he stays on pace Rand Paul will get 1300 votes. SMH
Oops guess who’s in 4th now. LOL gonna be a long night.
Cruz has slipped ahead of Rubio to 4th. Does that help, Chris? 😉 â—„Daveâ–º
Now if people had listened to Rands campaign instead of voting for Rand Cruz would be beating Bush.
Cruz is not really a good fit for true libertarians. â—„Daveâ–º
Link to the full picture of the primary. Right now Rick Santorum is winning.

That site is slow. CNN’s is working better:
http://www.cnn.com/election/primaries/states/nh/Rep
…it has vote totals, while Fox News is only showing percentages. â—„Daveâ–º
Back to full column width… Looks like we posted the move to 4th simultaneously. 🙂 â—„Daveâ–º
So when do you think the RNC will let Carson off the hook to get out like he was going to after Iowa? He’s got 2%.
Look at the Drudge Report… 😉 â—„Daveâ–º
Cruz just edged by Bush a few votes! Now 3rd. â—„Daveâ–º
Cruz now in 3rd. Just passed Bush.
Sanders is climbing! 58 – 40 now! â—„Daveâ–º
Yea, he blew Killary away.
Looks like maybe we can both pop the cork tonight. If he can hang on to 3rd I’ll be grinning.
Had to shut down coverage. Couldn’t stand listening to Hillary.
Agreed! Now Bernie. 🙂 â—„Daveâ–º
Looks like Cruz is finally starting to break out from that back and forth tie with Bush.
Holy smokes. Can you imagine Sanders making a speech after four years of oval office stress? I never actually listened to him. This is the best they got?
Yeah, first time for me too. See my remarks below. â—„Daveâ–º
It sure is a good thing that Bernie the Commie can’t possibly win the General, even if he somehow bests Hillary. It is frightening that so many young people are eating up his socialistic class warfare and environmentalism. 🙁 â—„Daveâ–º
Nice move by Trump. He waited to speak until they moved coverage from Sanders to Bush. As soon as they did he Trumped Bush’s speech. Bush gets nothing. LOL
He is a pro! Why didn’t Bush wait to see if he got 3rd or 4th? â—„Daveâ–º
Because Fox hasn’t called it but looking at the counties with the least reporting Cruz is beating Kasich. He won’t overtake Cruz.
Typical Trump speech. 15 minutes of nothing.
It has worked well so far. Why change? â—„Daveâ–º
Well as I am one of the poor slobs that has to go and earn my ration of beans and rice as well as a steak for the less fortunate tomorrow I’m going to bed. I’ll sleep well tonight. It came out as well as expected. Been fun. Good night.
I enjoyed it of course, Chris. Let’s do it again. 🙂 â—„Daveâ–º
2 down 48 to go. You bet. 🙂
Well, at least the NH primary started the much needed process of eliminating several candidates who clearly have little to no support.
Now, if only someone would gently explain this to poor Dr. Carson. However, his candidacy has clearly shown that politics is no place for a principled gentleman.
the best to come out of this is that Kasich has started to move. While I abhor his campaign style, I suspect he is the best qualified (in the current pack) to manage the mess that the next POTUS will inherit.
My guy (Gary Johnson) has opined that a Trump / Sanders contest might give him an actual shot at the brass ring. While I doubt this, one can always dream.
Troy
What happened to Dr. Carson was predictable. He stepped into the operating theater and found he wasn’t the smartest, most popular, and respected guy in the room. He lost interest.
Now how might we arrange such a ego deflating venue for Rafael Edward Cruz? 😉
…and don’t bother suggesting the same for Trump. He is so smart that when he encounters someone smarter, he hires them. 😀 â—„Daveâ–º
Oh My goodness I have not heard Gary Johnson’s name in a very long time. I had no idea he was running again.
IMHO he is about 100 times better than Kasich … Johnson is the real deal while Kasich just thinks he is the real deal.
In fact I would like to buy Kasich for what he is worth and sell him for what HE THINKS he is worth … I am all for a quick tidy profit … LOL
That being said Johnson is too honest and straight for the job at this time. He would be ground into hamburger and served up as a meatball by the corrupt congress and establishment both sides of the isle.
This is indeed an interesting election to watch.
Perhaps it is because I rarely turn on the TV anymore; but I have heard even less about the Libertarian Party than we usually do this season. Literally, the only time I encounter Johnson’s name is when Troy occasionally mentions him.
Do you self identify as a libertarian, CT? Troy and I are both objectivists, which is similar to a small (L) libertarian. Chris is still a Constitutional conservative, who leans toward libertarianism. â—„Daveâ–º
Interestingly, Trump’s campaign stated before the NH Primary that they planned to get 100k votes. They ended up with 100,406, which tripled Cruz’ count. I wonder what their projections are for SC? 😀 â—„Daveâ–º
Cruz Campaign Removes Ad Featuring Softcore Porn Star …that will go over well in SC… 😀 â—„Daveâ–º
